My thesis, entitled ‘The Ecocidal Imagination: Dystopian Fiction in an Era of Environmental Crisis’, explores the environmental turn in recent dystopian fiction. It analyses the role of environmental concerns within the development of the genre and explores the dialogic relationships between humanity and non-human nature as presented within contexts of extinction, climate change, and environmental exploitation.
During my doctoral studies I took part in the Midlands3Cities (now Midlands4Cities) Research Festival, for which I created a ‘digital story’ of my research. If you can excuse the slightly embarrassing voice over, I think it gives a good, concise introduction to my research project. Enjoy!
